COMMANDER’S CORNER: Shawn Jackson, Commander Greetings! Once again, this has been a very successful month of August, and it is all due to you! All of the officers, in all capacities of this post, are striving to help you in every way we can. So, please share your thoughts, your comments and/or your concerns so that we may make this post a better place for you to be a member of! A successful planning committee meeting took place recently, and we now have concrete dates for your review each and every month. So please, take the time to see which events you would like to partake in, and we will be delighted to see you there! I would also like to take this moment to announce the new addition to the Jackson Family, as well as our Post Family; Joshua Freedom Jackson was born August 1, 2010 at 8:03 p.m., weighing 7 pounds 7 ounces, at Akron General Hospital! Many thanks go out all of you supporters!
CANTEEN NEWS: Marianne Beal STAND DOWN Tuesday, Sept. 14 and there’s lots of room for our Canteen customers! We have ample room for parking also!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND TALENT! The Corn Roast was a great time to get together for delicious corn and festivities! We certainly couldn’t have these wonderful events without our extremely generous volunteers! FYI: 2011 Corn Roast will be held on a Saturday in August.
STARTING THURSDAYS IN SEPTEMBER the Canteen will serve soup & bologna sandwiches. Don’t forget! We are currently serving lunch in the Canteen on Mondays from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. If you are interested in helping out during lunchtime, please give Marianne a call at 330-745-0127.
